The Latest IWC Ingenieur and Pilot's models from Watches & Wonders 2025

IWC Schaffhausen wowed the watch world in 2023 with the launch of a new IWC Schaffhausen Ingenieur, a design that took inspiration from the 1976 'Jumbo' design and updated it in the best way possible. At the time, this iconic integrated design was only offered in steel and titanium versions. This new take on the  Ingenieur was well received, especially by enthusiasts yearning for a contemporary version of the classic design.

Excitingly, IWC Schaffhausen's Watches & Wonders 2025 collection sees the Ingenieur line grow in several significant ways. On top of that, we've also been treated to a trio of F1-inspired chronographs.

The Ingenieur in new sizes and cases

In the 1970s, legendary watch designer Gérald Genta transformed the Ingenieur from an anti-magnetic tool watch into an iconic integrated sports watch featuring an industrial bezel and the instantly recognisable H-link bracelet. This foundational design continues to be at the heart of the latest Ingenieur models, now enhanced with new materials and complications, while still catering to the needs of scientists and watch enthusiasts alike.

There's a sleek new black ceramic take on the design as well as one featuring one of IWC Schaffhausen's most beloved complications, the perpetual calendar, but the ones we're excited to see are in precious metals and smaller sizes.

IWC Schaffhausen has launched three new 35mm Ingenieur models, one in gold, two in steel and a 40mm version in gold. We'll talk about the heavy-metal pieces first. The Ingenieur Automatic 40mm is fundamentally the same as its predecessors, with a strong case silhouette and a distinctive combination of grid-like dial and baton hands and markers. Except here, the case is in rich 5N gold, with a red hue that's contrasted perfectly by the inky black dial. It's a watch that makes a powerful statement.

The Ingenieur Automatic 35 in gold uses the same 5N alloy but to a remarkably different effect. First of all, there's the size. This smaller diameter has great unisex appeal — because while women will love that this emblematic Genta design will work on smaller wrists, the case is far from delicate. Thanks to the integrated design and the prominent crown, this watch will suit many men just fine. Another exceptional element of this particular model is the dial. The gold-coloured dial is light and versatile, shifting in tone depending on the light. The pale hue also lets the complex grid pattern shine, making it a very special piece indeed.

Also on offer are 35mm versions in steel cases, with a silver-plated dial or a black dial, respectively. All the 35mm models are powered by the calibre 47110, visible through the sapphire caseback.

The Ingenieur Automatic 40 is equipped with the IWC-Manufactured calibre 32111, with 120 hours of power reserve.

These Pilot's Chronographs are ready to race

IWC Schaffhausen is getting set for a major role on the silver screen — as partners for the upcoming Apple Original Film F1 The Movie, a groundbreaking production set on the fictional 'APXGP' team, with IWC playing the role of team sponsor. IWC has released three Pilot's Chronographs made to honour team APXGP, and the world of F1 in general.

First up is the Pilot's Watch Performance Chronograph 41, with a 5N gold case featuring a ceramic tachymeter bezel, an essential tool for motorsports-oriented chronographs. This detail on top of the elevated black and gold dial details gives this watch an unmistakable air of precision.

Hot on the heels of the gold model are the Pilot's Watch Chronograph APX GP in 43 and 41mm cases. Both of these pieces have stainless steel cases, black dials with gold details, along with smoked sapphire case backs that are emblazoned with the APXGP logo.

All three come on black rubber straps with the EasX-CHANGE system to complete the sporty look.
