Grand Seiko Heritage SBGY011
SBGY011
The Grand Seiko SBGY011 is a hand-wound Spring Drive timepiece from the Heritage Collection, designed in the spirit of the 44GS style that first established the Grand Seiko aesthetic in 1967. Its dial features a subtle, textured pattern inspired by "Asaborake," the moment at dawn when the light of day begins to break through the morning mist, creating a calm and refined visual impression. The stainless steel case measures 40 mm in diameter, 10.5 mm in thickness, and 46.2 mm from lug to lug, with a lowered center of gravity to ensure a comfortable fit on the wrist.
The SBGY011 is powered by the Spring Drive Caliber 9R31, a manually wound movement with a dual spring barrel that provides approximately 72 hours of power reserve. The seconds hand moves in a smooth glide motion, unique to Spring Drive, while the minute and seconds hands are gently curved by hand to align closely with the dial’s surface for improved legibility. The watch features a box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, a screw-down see-through case back, and water resistance to 10 bar. It also offers magnetic resistance of 4,800 A/m and comes with both a stainless steel bracelet and a crocodile leather strap, each secured by a three-fold clasp with push-button release. With a weight of approximately 77 grams, the SBGY011 is a refined and lightweight expression of Grand Seiko’s craftsmanship and design philosophy.
